Big Apple Run

Join the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators (LRCE), Saturday, February 23, 2008, from 8-10 a.m. for its Third Annual 5K Run/Walk. The race will begin at Fourth St. and North Blvd. in downtown Baton Rouge.

Proceeds will benefit LRCE's educational programs and services. LRCE supports public, private, parochial and charter school teachers, administrators, parents and home school families.

This year we are requesting that all participants donate a new or used book on race day. The books collected will be used in LRCE's multi-media lending library and distributed to area schools in need of books.

All registered participants 18 years or older will be included in a drawing to win a trip for two to New York City which includes airfare and lodging. The top three female and male finishers in each age group will receive medals of recognition.

Pre-Registration - $20 (deadline February 8, 2008)

Participants that pre-register will receive their packets by mail.

After February 8, 2008 - $25

Participants may pick up packets at LRCE February 19 & 20, 2008.

On-Site Registration - $25

7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. day of the race (February 23, 2008)

Packets include a t-shirt and race number.

Please Note: On-site registration is $25, check or cash ONLY

We would love for you toregister as a team; a team consists of ten or more participants. An award will be given to the team with the largest number of participants. Our goal is to have 1,000 participants.with your help we can raise $20,000! Additional information is attached.
