Individual Age Groups
Age groups will be in 5 year increments beginning with ages 10-14, 15-19, 20-24 on up. NOTE: Relay teams do not compete in age groups.
Two Divisions - Fat Tire & Road Bike
Individual participants may enter one of two divisions. The two divisions are classified by the size of your bike tire. It's simple to determine. Just place a ruler across the top of the inflated tire: Fat Tire: > 1-1/4 Common example: Mountain/Cruiser bike tires. Road Bike: =< 1-1/4 Common example: Road/Tri bike tires. NOTE: All 700c or 650c wheels are Road Bikes, even if they are on a straight handled bike. In other words, the tire type/size determines the division.
Relay Teams
There will be one relay division made up of 2-person and 3-person relay teams. On a 2-person team one individual completes 2 disciplines and the other completes one. On a 3-person relay team each member completes either the swim, bike or run. Each member of the relay team will recieve a goody bag & race tee.
Awards
Individual awards will be presented to both Road Bike and Fat Tire divisions: the Overall finisher and the Top 3 finishers in age group will receive awards. Relay awards will be presented to the Top Relay team at each event.
ChampionChip Timing
Atomic Racing will provide ChampionChip Electronic Timing. Chip timing includes an electronic chip attached to a velcro strap that each groovy girl wears around her ankle for the duration of the event. The chip is collected when you cross the finish line. ALL participants MUST pick up their chip on race morning at the chip timing table. Chip timing will provide quick, accurate results with time splits for each leg of the event.
